The Bangladesh Medical Tourism Association (BMTA), the country’s leading organization dedicated to facilitating cross-border healthcare, hosted another landmark medical meetup on the evening of 30 June with Cytecare Hospitals, Bangalore, India. Held at Pearl Hotel, Banani, Dhaka, the event showcased BMTA’s continued efforts to expand international partnerships focused on cancer care and medical tourism excellence.
The delegation from Cytecare Hospitals was led by Mr. Ganapathi Hegde, International Head, and Mr. Jalil Mia Maisan, Bangladesh International Marketing Head. Their presence highlighted the growing importance of Bangladesh as a strategic partner in regional medical tourism and Cytecare’s commitment to offering advanced cancer treatment solutions to Bangladeshi patients.
With over 1.5 lakh patients treated from 13+ countries and three decades of specialized cancer care experience, Cytecare Hospitals is recognized for its patient-centric, evidence-based approach in oncology. The hospital offers holistic cancer care through its 150-bed state-of-the-art facility in Bangalore and is rapidly gaining global trust.
BMTA President Md. Arif Hossian, along with General Secretary AKM Mufesserul Haq, Vice Presidents Mohammad Ariful Islam and Ashekunnabi Mahmudur Rahman Mazumder Liton, Secretary – International Affairs Shabbir Ahmad Tamim, Secretary – Legal Affairs Yasin Absar and other senior members were present at the meetup. Their active participation reinforced BMTA’s commitment to building sustainable international health partnerships and advancing cancer care access for Bangladeshi citizens.
The meetup underlined BMTA’s core mission—connecting Bangladeshi patients to ethical, affordable, and world-class healthcare abroad. With over 9 to 10 lakh Bangladeshis seeking treatment overseas annually, spending upwards of $5 billion (60,000 Crore Taka), the role of a reliable and professional platform like BMTA has never been more vital. More than 51% of these outbound patients choose India as their preferred destination, underscoring the relevance of this partnership.
Through this collaboration with Cytecare Hospitals, BMTA continues to uphold its legacy as the flagbearer of Bangladesh’s medical tourism industry. By fostering relationships with globally reputed healthcare institutions, BMTA ensures that patients receive access to timely, safe, and life-saving treatment beyond national borders.
