The Bangladesh Medical Tourism Association (BMTA), the premier organization promoting cross-border healthcare services from Bangladesh, successfully hosted a high-profile medical meetup with Apollo Proton Cancer Center (APCC), Chennai at The Westin Dhaka on 26 June, 2025. The event marked a significant step forward in enhancing international cooperation in the field of advanced cancer treatment and medical tourism.
Representing APCC were Mr. Bhavani Shankar and officials from MediJourn, who formally handed over partnership certificates and official recognition documents to BMTA. This formal agreement highlights a collaborative effort to facilitate access to cutting-edge cancer care, including proton therapy, for Bangladeshi patients.
BMTA President Md. Arif Hossian, General Secretary AKM Mufesserul Haq, Vice Presidents Mohammad Ariful Islam and Ashekunnabi Mahmudur Rahman Mazumder Liton, Secretary – International Affairs Shabbir Ahmad Tamim, Secretary – Legal Affairs Yasin Absar were all in attendance, along with other core members of the organization. Apollo Proton Cancer Center is globally recognized for its excellence in cancer care. With over 2,000 international patients treated from more than 65 countries, and 65 to 70 patients receiving proton therapy daily, APCC has become one of the busiest proton therapy centers in the world, standing out among over 100 established centers globally.
