The Bangladesh Medical Tourism Association (BMTA) has expressed its deepest condolences and heartfelt sorrow following the tragic air crash that took place today at the Milestone School and College campus in Diabari, Uttara, Dhaka.
An F-7 BGI training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into the school premises shortly after takeoff at 13:06 local time, resulting in the death of at least 19 people and injuring more than 150 others, many of whom are students. Most of the injured were rushed to hospitals, including the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, with critical burn injuries.
BMTA President Md. Arif Hossian said,
“The heartbreaking loss of at least 19 lives and injuries to over 150 individuals, including more than fifty students—many in critical condition—has plunged the entire nation into profound grief.”
BMTA General Secretary AKM Mufesserul Haq added,
“We mourn the innocent lives lost in this horrific incident and extend our prayers for the swift recovery of all those injured. Our hearts go out to the families affected by this unimaginable tragedy.”
The Association urged everyone to come together in compassion and solidarity, ensuring that the victims receive the best possible medical care and psychological support in this time of crisis.
BMTA members offered immediate healthcare-related support to any victims and their families who may require assistance amid this tragedy.
According to official sources, the aircraft took off from the BAF Base and encountered technical difficulties before crashing into the school building, creating chaos and panic among students, teachers, and local residents.
